Why BitFox exists
Explanations about money are often either too complicated or meant to sell you something. I have seen that happen since 2014, from the moment I built the first Bitcoin platform in the Netherlands. People asked the same questions, and the answers they found were mostly advertising or jargon.
BitFox is my answer. News and explanations about crypto, stocks, the world economy and personal finance, written so you understand them. With sources under every article, calculators that let you discover how something works yourself and a learning path for those who start from zero.
What you will not find here are buy tips, price forecasts from BitFox itself or promises about returns. Expectations of others are only mentioned with the name of the source.

How the editorial work runs
BitFox is a small project with a smart way of working. AI agents help me find news, work out research and make first drafts. That lets me publish more and faster than I could alone.
The choices stay mine. I decide which topics come up, I read and edit what is made and I stand behind what appears. Every article states that AI was used and the sources are listed under every article.

Education and information, never a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.
Sources under every piece
Figures and expectations come from named sources, so you can check them yourself.
Transparent about AI
You always see when AI was used, images included.
Independent
No paid mentions. If that ever changes, it is stated clearly.
Honest about interests
I invest in crypto and stocks myself. Where that is relevant to an article, it says so. I do not show my real positions.

Roy Derks
My name is Roy Derks. I am an entrepreneur and investor and since 2022 I have lived with my family in San Miguel de Salinas in Spain. My attention goes to innovation, technology and entrepreneurship, and to the question of what AI makes possible for one person with experience.
I started in 2001 as a freelance IT consultant and took charge of complete infrastructures, from management and security to the question of how systems work together more efficiently. In 2014 I founded MeesterBitcoin, the first Bitcoin platform in the Netherlands. Within six months it grew to more than 75,000 members, purely on content and word of mouth. It was also the largest Dutch and Belgian crypto community platform. At the end of 2020 I ended it deliberately, while it was still doing well.
Alongside that I invested for eight years through K.F. Investment in digital assets and young companies in blockchain, Web3 and fintech. Not only with capital. I prefer to work next to the founders, to sharpen strategy and structure growth. For ten years I analysed the markets daily, with my own models and self built bots, and I built a property portfolio in Spain.
Between 2004 and 2009 I worked for the police next to my consultancy. There I learned to decide under pressure and stay calm when there is not enough information. I still use that every day.
